7 Easy Steps to Healthy Nails

Okay, I don't know about you, but I'm tired of having my nails looking chipped, uneven and just plain nasty? Well, your in luck, because I took the time to write down 7 easy steps to get your nails looking healthy and clean.

Step 1: (If necessary) Polish Removal
If you have any nail polish on your nails, wipe them with a cotton ball soaked in nail polish. This will not only take away the nail polish, but it will also remove any extra oil from your nail. Look for a nail polish remover that is labeled "non-acetone".

Step 2: Trim
Start with clean, dry hands. Use a nail clipper to trim your nails strait across. Be careful not to cut them too short.

Step 3: File
Round the edges of each nail with an emery board and file in one direction. Going back and forth makes your nails more likely to break.

Step 4: Soak
Soak your fingers in a bowl of warm, soapy water to soften your cuticles and loosen any dirt under your nails.

Step 5: Brush
Scrub away any dirt with the nailbrush. Be gentle, the skin under your nails is sensitive.

Step 6: Soften
Rub a dab of hand lotion into your hands. Work a small amount to each cuticle, too. This makes your cuticles less likely to get hangnails.

Step 7: Cuticle Care
Using the cuticle stick, very gently push back each cuticle. Never tear or bite your cuticles! If you have a hangnail or a ragged cuticle, remove it with nail clippers.

I hope these tips work on your nails. Happy cleaning!
